This type of wax is specially designed to dissolve in water, making it ideal for applications where you want to create a hollow or removable core. Water-soluble wax is often used in lost wax -casting techniques, a process in which a hollow or complex shape is created by first forming a wax model and then casting a metal replica.
You can use water-soluble wax to make the core of a hollow object. You knead the wax into the desired shape, then apply a layer of another non-soluble wax around that core and then dip the whole structure in water. Once the non-soluble wax has hardened, the water-soluble wax core will dissolve in the water, leaving the cavity or desired shape.
